From Feb. 6 to May 6, 2019, the Centre Pompidou presents the first major retrospective in France dedicated to Victor Vasarely. 300 works, objects and documents explore the world of the father of optic art on a chronological and thematic path. This prolific creation, fully rooted in the scientific, economic and social context of the 1960s and ‘70s, surprises by every aspect of the work –from paintings to sculptures, architectural integrations and advertisements… An exceptional occasion confirming the influence of Vasarely’s art in the popular culture of his era (in fashion, design, graphic arts, film and television, etc.), “Sharing Forms” puts the public in front of the work and its intrinsic moving light, forcing them into an instable dream, where the glance is not confronted to shapes anymore, but to forces.
TheWaysBeyond invites you on a Saturday morning, before the opening time of the museum, to a guided visit with a museum mediator of this singular exposition. Let yourself hypnotise by the kaleidoscopical masterpieces before visitors pour in.
Before the visit starts, we will share a casual breakfast next to the Museum to better start the day!
